R&D Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

 The R&D Technician will be responsible for providing assistance to ExMAL teams working on new material development efforts. Responsibilities include operation of printers, as well as all pre and post processing equipment, including furnace setup and operation and preparation of files with CAD/CAE software. Additional responsibilities may include operating material testing equipment in the material characterization laboratory including mechanical test frames, metallography equipment, microscopes, among other instrumentation. Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting is also expected on printers and other test equipment. Detailed and thorough documentation of work in laboratory notebooks on a daily basis is mandatory. Other requirements are to assist other technicians and engineering personnel as required. Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Obey all safety regulations. Attend and participate in any training or education required by company. Follow all company procedures and policies. Maintain confidentiality and protect company technical and proprietary assets. Support the quality policy and directives.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate degree in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering technology or equivalent program or 5 years’ relevant experience. Computer knowledge (basic utilization of Windows including Microsoft Excel). Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

Able to stand for extended periods of time, walk, reach and stoop. Capable of lifting 50 pounds. Manual dexterity and manipulation to operate a computer, work with hand tools and testing equipment.
