About Our Opportunity

The Help Desk Technician provides support for customers and ExOne service personnel on the proper procedures for installation, use and repair of ExOne 3D metal printing systems, software, hardware, ancillary equipment and processes. This position works closely with customers and various departments within ExOne to provide training support. Additionally, this person provides telephone and remote support for 3D metal printing systems through email and remote diagnostic access to customers’ machines.

Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Training Development and Implementation

  • In conjunction with Help Desk Leader, train customers in use and maintenance of ExOne machines, software and ancillary equipment in such a way that optimizes safety, the customer’s investment, set-up times and customer’s internal processes
  • Act as a liaison between customers and ExOne; build and maintain positive relationships with customers. 
  • Participate, as needed, in the pre/post-sale planning of customer needs and expectations to ensure successful start-up and acceptance of equipment

Machine Maintenance and Preventive Processes

  • Assist customers and service team on preventative maintenance procedures including schedules, spare parts, kits, logistics and inventory management
  • Work with the customer or service team with standard work procedures to streamline systemic or process related functions
  • Provide technical and practical answers to customer’s and technician’s questions or problems; recommend solutions
  • Provide timely, prompt remote diagnostic assistance to customers and service personnel when needed
  • Maintain and update knowledge database of installation, operating and maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, FAQs for access by service personnel and customers.
  • Promote recurring revenue sales including training, service contracts, spare parts and consumables.
  • Prepare and submit reports as required.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working environment.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

    • 5+ years of hands-on service experience working with binder jet printers, operating software, PLC’s, post processing equipment, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems recommended
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, multi-lingual a plus
    • Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact
    • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
    • Effective problem identification and resolution skills
    • Strong organizational skills
