ExOne® 3D printing systems work with a variety of industrial-grade metal powders and binders to directly print products with unique compositions and characteristics.
The combination of metal 3D printing materials you choose will impact the properties of the finished product. You can print a metal part with a higher tensile strength at top temperatures, greater strength and corrosion resistance, or easy machining and polishing. As a note, all our 3D printed metal parts are “near-net” and may require some finishing before use depending on the application.

Tungsten Infiltrated with Copper
As copper and tungsten are not mutually soluble, the material is composed of distinct particles of one metal dispersed in a matrix of the other one. The microstructure is therefore rather a metal matrix composite instead of a true alloy. The material combines the properties of both metals, resulting in a material that is heat-resistant, ablation-resistant, highly thermally and electrically conductive, and easy to machine.
